Impact Report

Bobby Roode announced that next week he will break AJ Styles' record as the longest reigning TNA Champion in history. But then Hulk Hogan announced that next week will be the next edition of Gut Check and Open Fight Night. That means anyone can challenge anyone, and there must be a title match. Hogan said last month it was the Tag-Team Championship, so this month it will be the TNA Championship. So Bobby Roode will have to defend his title on Impact. If Roode can win the match he will break AJ's record. If he doesn't he won't break the record and won't be the Champion anymore.

The only question left is, who will face Roode for the TNA Championship next week? Everyone wanted the spot, but Hogan said he would let them all compete and name four finalists to compete next week. There would be 3 singles matches and 1 over the top battle royal. The 4 winners could compete next week.

In the first match, Bully Ray defeated an injured Rob Van Dam.

In the next match, a rematch from Sacrifice, Jeff Hardy defeated Ken Anderson.

In the main event, Kurt Angle defeated Samoa Joe.

In the battle royal, the final 3 were AJ Styles, Austin Aries, and Gunner. As Gunner was down in the corner, AJ and Aries faced off in the middle of the ring for the first time in history and the crowd was on its feet. This is a dream match and one they should be setting up for Slammiversary. In the end, Gunner got up and eliminated Aries, and then was eliminated by AJ. The winner of the match and 4th qualifier was AJ Styles.

There was a great triple threat Knockouts match for the Knockout Championship between the Champion Gail Kim, Brooke Tessmacher, and Velvet Sky. Velvet had Tessmacher beat, but Gail stole the pin.

There were a few big announcements. Next week when they have Gut Check and Open Fight Night, TNA Impact will also be moving to an 8pm start time and finally going LIVE!
