Wrestling fans may have been wondering just where WWE Diva Eve Torres has been lately. Despite being linked strongly with John Laurinaitis and David Otunga on-screen at one point, the star has been off television for several weeks now, with her heel secretary character seemingly forgotten about.
So, what's going on?
Torres is currently taking time away from WWE television to film upcoming NBC program Stars Earn Stripes, a new military-themed reality show which sees eight celebrities, including the current Diva, compete in various grueling military-style exercises.
Over at their official site, EW.com goes into some depth about what will take place on the show, which is scheduled to air in August: The eight competitors will gather at a training facility where they will tackle complicated and difficult “missions” inspired by real-life military exercises. Like on Dancing With the Stars, each celebrity will be partnered with an expert—in this case, an experienced member of the U.S. military or a law enforcement agency. Contests range from helicopter drops to long-range target shooting, with the celebrity and the veteran competing as a team. Each week, one team is eliminated.
As EW.com notes, Stars Earn Stripes will be hosted by former NATO commander General Wesley Clark and Entertainment Tonight's Samantha Harris. Other celebrities on the show include female boxer Laila Ali, NFL star Terry Crews and TV personality Nick Lachey.
Torres is not the first WWE Diva to flirt with reality television. Stacy Keibler excelled in her 2006 appearance on ABC's Dancing with the Stars (she parted ways with WWE soon after), and Diva Search winner Ashley Massaro had a short stint on Survivor in 2007.
