New Smackdown GM

It's disclosure time again. If you are not a fan of spoilers, there is no need to read any further. Especially if you are looking forward to all that the WWE has in store for this Friday night's SmackDown.

Now that we have that out of the way, time to get down to business. It was announced at the Smackdown Tapings that Booker T is the new General Manager of Smackdown. Mr. McMahon started off the show announcing Booker T as the GM, and was interrupted by Alberto Del Rio.

So I gotta ask, "Can you dig it, suckaaa!?!" To me, this is a great move, as I have long felt that Booker T would be better served as an authority figure over announcing. Let's face it, he has been around the business long enough to be respected. Yet he's still young enough to take it to the ring if needed.

Ultimately, only time will tell as to what the WWE has in store for his reign. Or if the fans will even take to Booker's new role as the GM of SmackDown. In the end, this move is a surefire upgrade over Teddy Long and should prove successful.
