CM Punk Interview
Recently, C.M. Punk was interviewed by Beneath The Mat in front of an intimate crowd in Philadelphia. Here are the highlights:
The wrestling he least enjoys working with:
"Good question. I always get, 'Who's your favorite opponent?' So, this is great because I enjoy talking trash. Does anybody even remember Elijah Burke? Yeah? Ahh, he's terrible. He's absolutely the worst. Absolutely the worst. Talk about a diva. Man, oh man. Sorry if you like him."
On going from one of the most hated wrestling to one of the most popular:
"I'm actually very proud of that. I think in the pro wrestling world, I think last year I won all these awards for being this despicable human being. Now, this year, I'm winning 'Superstar Of The Year', 'Wrestler Of The Year' and 'Match Of The Year' and all this stuff. To me, that is what's magical about what I do. I think a guy like Rowdy Piper did that. And I think you guys as fans -- especially here in Philadelphia 'cause you're such hardcore fans -- and this is going to sound like I'm tooting my own horn so I'm going to try to be as humble about this as I can: Pro wrestling fans recognize when someone is so good at what they do, even if they're supposed to be the bad guy. I'm trying to get you to stab me, throw lit pennies at me, whatever. You reach a level that, you guys as fans say, 'Wow. This guy's good.'"
Living Colour and "Cult Of Personality" theme song:
"They actually have [thanked me for using it]. Yeah. It's funny because in 1989 when that song was -- I imagine -- a number one hit, (Note: the song peaked at #13 on Billboard Hot 100 and #9 on Billboard Mainstream Rock) I know it was on the charts and that was my little league team's song. That was the one. I played on a team called the Indians and that was it. I actually used that song when I was on the independents right before I signed [with WWE].
On who he'd like to see WWE bring in:
"I would love to fill the roster with talented guys that I know want it and love and wouldn't run away for greener pastures or anything like that. I would love to get [Colt] Cabana his job back. I would love to see [Samoa] Joe given a shot."

Is The Undertaker Done After Wrestlemania?
The Undertaker's time away from the ring has included surgeries on both his shoulder and hip. He was lighter than ever before when he showed up backstage at last week's Raw SuperShow, estimated at 275 to 280 pounds. The belief that he would retire following his WrestleMania XXVIII encounter with Triple H is largely gone since it's not being hinted. Peers expect him to continue wrestling for a few more years since he's limited to one match annually.
The Rock's 'Wrist Notes' On Raw
When John Cena interrupted The Rock in the main event on Raw, one of Cena's comments was that he did not need to write his promo on his wrist. He then removed his wrist bands to prove his point. Well here is a picture of what Cena was talking about, apparently the big Hollywood actor can't remember his lines...

TNA Announcer Suffers Wardrobe Malfunction
TNA ring announcer Christy Hemme apparently suffered a wardrobe malfunction at last nights Impact Wrestling tapings. Hemme commented on the mishap on her Twitter account: "Dear front row at IMPACT, I publicly apologize for my wardrobe malfunction. My battery pack was too heavy for the string that held it on!"
Brian Kendrick Explains TNA Departure
Former TNA Wrestler Brian Kendrick spoke with Unlimited Wrestling Radio about his release from TNA, how his release came to be, what is he doing now and and much more. This week's guest host was none other than former WWE star and Ring Ka King wrestler Chavo Guerrero. Below is a quick recap of some of Kendricks comments.
On his departure from TNA:
"I no longer work for TNA. Ive been for the longest time pitching ideas. One was to bring in Paul London to rejuvenate the tag team division. Another, Shelly Martinez pitched an idea to be more or less a Courtney Love to my Kurt Cobain. I would be the shy bashful guy and she would dress me up and put me on twitter and stuff. Both ideas i pitched and really liked and a lot of times i wasn't getting responses to emails."
"There's also a lot of changes going on in TNA right now. New guys coming on board, Vince Russo leaving. So it all sort of got lost in the shuffle i suppose. About a month ago i asked if i could pursue other options. I dealt with Bruce Prichard and he spoke with whoever he needed to speak to. As of Tuesday of last week I signed the papers i needed to sign. It was something i initiated but i think it was something they were all to happy to please me in that sense."
"It was my fault in signing the contract that i signed. I really had a good time there. I really like the people there. I signed a pay per appearance deal. My wife just went from working a job she really liked to a job working six days a week. She's going to school for comedy stuff so it is putting a real stress on her."
On What he does in his spare time:
"On my spare time ive been doing cartoons. Thats what ive ben doing. I've had, i don't I guess the last 120 days off or so Ive been making stop motion animation. It's called Fun Time Pro Wrestling. I draw them out and paste them to a little poster board i have. I take a picture then move it over just a bit and take another picture. Anywhere between 500-800 pictures. I actually had to go out and purchase a real tripod and cannon camera to get this going."
Chavo comments on how all wrestling contracts are one sided deals, this leads to Kendrick talking about the time Vince Russo Spoke with the TNA undercard:
"Yeah and they can release you at any time but i cant release them at any time. It's funny, Russo had a meeting with us about 8 months ago, maybe more. He was explaining that we have 60 guys on the roster and that certain guys have ridiculous contracts and some of you have contracts that I don't know why you signed them. You guys must really love wrestling that much to prostitute yourself out like that."
"He told us this in a meeting we are prostituting ourselves out and he is right. So i asked him, in front of everybody, are you suggesting or do you endorse starting a union, is that what you are saying? Russo answered by saying well you are going to get me in alot of hot water but yeah thats exactly what you guys need and we all know it. Its you know it would be easy for the lower card guys to start it but you would need some of the upper card guys to say yes, I am willing to lose a bit of my salary to all have retirement and treated justly."
His thoughts On Dixie Carter:
"I like her. The thing is, as soon as i got my (release) paperwork sent in, i got a text right from her. It was her thanking me for my time and hoping we could work together in the future. I thanked her for the time. I think they gave me a place to work; I got to do what i love for a living and truthfully I couldn't have asked for a nicer boss. She is so nice, the company is so nice."
"I'm going to miss the crew, I loved sitting out and drinking with my red river saloon buddies. All of the guys who work behind the scenes in the stage. We would hang out at the double tree and get drunk."
On The backstage feel in TNA:
"It was different from the respect i guess that not so much locker room enforcers and intimidation. If you are a young guy in the WWE, you better know who's in charge. If the undertaker tells you to do something, you better fucking do it."
"In TNA we got separate trailers where we dress in. Everybody gets along with Kurt or Bubba but there isnt so much of the passing on of knowledge as there is in the WWE. There isn't much of that locker room enforcement. The locker room its looser."
"All of the guys who came up through Nashville who had been there for a long time, your James storms Bobby Roodes, AJ Styles, Frankie Kazarian, Christopher Daniels, Abyss all great guys, would dress in their locker room. Then what we would call the X-division, the people of color, anyone who wasn't "white" under 250 pounds would dress in another locker room. It never felt cliqy but nobody bounced around from locker rooms. The main event guys would just dress in the offices."
Kendrick also spoke candidly about his drug habits and mentioned he has been clean for some time now. Brian mentioned that it was simply a health choice that he had to face and that he feels much better physically and emotionally since being clean.

Great Moment In Wrestling History
Undertaker's Dive @ Wrestlemania 25
Shawn Michaels pulled the camera-man in the way, and Undertaker fell straight down on his head. I thought he was going to be counted out to end the Steak. By far I think the scariest moment in the Undertaker's streak and career!
General Manger vs General Manager
I would put up a Poll to see which one you all like more, but I think its obvious Teddy would win. But honestly I don't like either. I think Triple H should just run both shows!

The Rock & John Cena
The main event on Raw was supposed to be The Rock's answer to John Cena's comments last week on Raw. It started off great, but then John Cena interrupted the whole thing just to prove he was man enough to insult The Rock to his face. But The Rock got the last word before the show went off the air. And The Rock still had more to say after the show went off the air.
Basically, the highlights of The Rock's speech were when he called John Cena "Kung Pow Bitch" and it started trending worldwide, and when The Rock had the crowd chanting "Lady-Parts" and "Fruity Pebbles" which are his other nicknames for Cena.
A great point was when The Rock referenced Cena's comments about the guys in the back that are not happy that The Rock is returning and how Cena said he is fighting for the guys in the back. The Rock said Cena can fight for the guys in the back, meanwhile The Rock will fight for all the fans. The crowd is clearly on The Rock's side. He has won the popularity contest. Cena didn't stand a chance.
Cena has given it all a good try. He has cut some great promos on The Rock. But bottom line, no one will ever out talk The Rock. Over the years the only chance anyone has ever had against The Rock is to just cut the talk and get in the ring. In the ring The Rock has never been the best wrestler, he can wrestle, but against guys like Triple H and Brock Lesnar he was always in trouble. However, John Cena is probably the worst wrestler to ever be the top guy in the WWE. Hulk Hogan and The Miz are probably in the top 3 with Cena as the least talented wrestler to ever hold the WWE Championship. So if John Cena can't out talk The Rock, if he can not win the popularity contest, then his only other option is to out wrestle The Rock... and we all know that just isn't going to happen.
Chris Jericho Attacks CM Punk
The opening of Raw was supposed to be a rematch of Daniel Bryan vs CM Punk (Champion vs Champion). But before the match could start Chris Jericho came out to tell of CM Punk. Jericho accused Punk of ripping off everything Jericho has ever done. Punk laughed at Jericho and said Bret Hart was the first wrestler to call himself the "Best" so Jericho didn't invent it. However, after the match was over and Punk was walking up the ramp, Jericho came out again and attacked Punk. First he body-slammed Punk on the steel stage, then Jericho locked Punk in the Walls Of Jericho. I loved the last image as the cut to commercial... Chris Jericho stood over an injured Punk holding up the WWE Championship belt... a preview of things to come?
