Maria Louise Kanellis (born February 25, 1982) is a singer-songwriter, actress, model, and professional wrestler, also known simply as Maria. She is best known for her time with World Wrestling Entertainment, and is currently working for Ring of Honor as the valet of real life boyfriend Mike Bennett.Kanellis's career began as a contestant on the reality show Outback Jack in 2004. In the same year, she placed fifth in the Raw Diva Search, but was later hired by WWE as a backstage interviewer. Kanellis began competing in the ring as a wrestler in 2005. She also posed for the April 2008 cover of Playboy magazine, which was incorporated into a storyline on Raw. She released her debut album Sevin Sins on April 13, 2010 on iTunes.
Kanellis started dating fellow wrestler CM Punk in late 2005. They met during their tenures at OVW. In June 2007 it was reported that they had broken up. In a December 2011 interview, Kanellis confirmed she was dating Mike Bennett.Maria Kanellis won her first ever championship in wrestling on Feb 25th, the night of her 30th birthday! Maria beat TNA Knockout Winter in the finals of a four-woman tournament to crown the first FWE Women’s Champion. TNA’s Brooke Tessmacher distracted the referee allowing her tag team partner Tara to enter the ring and hit Winter with the Widow’s Peak to allow Maria the win. Earlier in the night, Winter interfered in Tara’s first round tournament match with Maria.
