SummerSlam 2014
Great PPV. Dolph Ziggler finally wins a belt, defeating The Miz for the IC title. Then Paige wins a huge upset in my opinion by defeating AJ to regain the Divas title. I loved how the finish went in that match; Paige goes for the Paige-Turner but AJ reverses that into the Black Widow, but then Paige breaks out of it and into her new finishing move Ram-Paige which looked deadly.
The show kind of started to disapoint me after that though. Jack Swagger had such a huge build-up to win this Flag match, and the crowd was totally behind him, but then he passed out in the submission hold and Rusev won again. That was such a good match with such a terrible ending. I hate when they do that.
The same thing happened with Randy Orton and Roman Reigns. Epic match, but it should have ended when Orton hit the RKO it was perfect. The Superman punch was great too, but why didn't Reigns try to go for the pin then? I was disapointed with the actual finish, but otherwise a great match. I just don't think Reigns should be pushed this much, its too soon. And what happened to Ryback? He used to defeat jobbers two at a time, now he is part of a shitty tag team Rybaxel and they lose to everyone, even Reigns in a 2 on 1 match. Ryback deserves more of a push than this!
Stephanie defeated Brie with the help of Nikki, that was a huge shock. I was equally shocked that Stephanie managed to look like she knew what she was doing. I thought it was lame that Triple H has sunk this low, now he is just the guy interferring in a Divas match. He's at a strange point in his career; he is clearly not an active wrestler anymore, but he seems like still could be. He never actually retired, and once and a while he still proves he can wrestle (Wrestlemania against Daniel Bryan). But he seems to waste all of his time running the WWE with Steph. He seems like he needs to figure out how he wants to finish his career, but this shouldn't be it. He should make a last run as the WWE Champion, then maybe end his career at Wrestlemania.
Why was there no Tag-Team Championships match? Why was there no United States Championship match? At least the Usos were part of the Lumberjacks but Sheamus wasn't even at the PPV, so why does he get to keep the belt? I thought you had to defend your title every 30 days, so he should be stripped of the title. Give it to someone that people actually want to see and that will defend the title on the PPVs. Rob Van Dam would be a great choice! Rumour is the WWE just wanted to combine the IC and US titles. So expect to see Dolph Ziggler vs Sheamus at Night Of Champions!
I thought it was sad seeing Chris Jericho losing to put over another rookie. That is all the WWE uses him for now. The worst one was when he came back to lose to Fandango at Wrestlemania. Now the WWE doesn't even use Fandango anymore. At least the year before Jericho came back to lose to CM Punk at Wrestlemania. Now he is losing to Bray Wyatt. I loved that he used the countdown again, that was a nice touch. But he should get to win and give the fans what they want. I know the WWE just wants to use its established stars to put over the rookies now, but its too much. Let Jericho win the IC title for a 10th time and put him in classic matches with Cena and Orton or maybe a US title feud with Rob Van Dam!
The main event was the whole reason for watching this PPV, it was the match I've wanted to see for as long as I can remember. Finally, Brock Lesnar was getting his rightful shot at the WWE and World Championships. He declared himself the number one contender a while back and no one questioned it, he is just that good. But instead of a title shot at Wrestlemania he was given a match with the Undertaker, which is the second best option at Wrestlemania every year. But Lesnar shocked the world by winning the match, defeating The Undertaker, and ending his undefeated streak once and for all. This proved once and for all that Lesnar is the greatest of all time. Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and even CM Punk have all failed to defeat The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. He did what no other wrestler could ever do.
Now he was facing John Cena who just won his 15th world championship, almost catching up to Ric Flair's recrod of 16 which I thought Triple H was going to break back in his prime, but now it looks like Cena will be the one to do it. So arguabley Cena is the greatest champion in WWE history since he actually won every single one of his championships while in the WWE. And now in this one match, Brock Lesnar destroyed him as if he was nothing, proving he is clearly better than the greatest champion of all time!
The match was not even a match, completely one-sided. Lesnar used 16 German suplexes, a new record I'm sure. Lesnar almost won as soon as the match started, the first move he used was the F-5 which could have ended it but Cena kicked out. Lesnar just punished him for it. Honestly the match was kind of boring, I mean it was all Lesnar, and the only move he seemed to want to use was the German suplex, so it was repetitive and not really exciting or suspensful. I just couldn't tell when Lesnar was going to win, but I guess a small part of me was worried Cena would steal the win in the end somehow, but luckily that didn't happen. In the end, Lesnar hit a second F-5 and this time got the pin and the win. Now Lesnar has all the gold and is the star of the WWE once again!
