Wrestling Matters

Since WWE has turned its back on the traditional wrestling idea, TNA / Impact has jumped all over this new idea of promoting their company as a real wrestling company, a traditional wrestling company, where according to their new motto "wrestling matters!"

Kurt Angle
I think its a great idea. At least one wrestling company actually wants to be a wrestling company. I think if the WWE wants to get more into entertainment, and make movies, shows, and music, then let them. But just remember, when real wrestling fans want to watch good quality wrestling matches, are they going to turn to an entertainment company or a wrestling company?

Furthermore, WWE has not only turned its back on 'wrestling' in the pursuit of 'entertainment,' but they have also made a major shift towards becoming a PG company targeted strictly for young children. Hence the overuse of a sub par 'wrestler' named John Cena, and the total lack of and misuse of far more talented 'wrestlers' that have since chosen to leave the company.

Wrestlers like Sheldon Benjamin, who decided after all the dumb skits in the WWE that he would rather 'wrestler' in the company Ring Of Honour (ROH) with his former tag team partner Charlie Hass.

Bobby Lashley
Other 'wrestlers' such as Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, Ken Anderson, Rob Van Dam, Bobby Lashley have all left WWE to go to TNA because they preferred the more mature realistic quality wrestling company. They have all stated numerous times that they were sick of watching the same guy get all the attention while they were overlooked. I wonder which guy that could be (Cena).

Another name worth mentioning is Sting. Vince has tried to sign him for decades and Sting has always refused. This past year WWE ran promos hinting that Sting was coming to WWE and it was expected that he would fight the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. Well this was all based on fact. WWE did offer Sting a contract, they did want him to face Undertaker at Wrestlemania, but Sting thought it over and chose to go back to TNA instead. Why would he do this? Sting is a born again Christian, and he chose a mature adult themed show over a more PG show, this doesn't make sense. WWE surley offered him more money, and yet he turned down the money and the huge promotion to stay in a little promotion that pushed things more and where better wrestlers got a chance to show what they could do.

Sting
Since signing back with TNA, Sting deafeated Jeff Hardy to win the World Heaveywieght Championship, which he has since defended against Rob Van Dam and Ken Anderson (until finally losing it to Ken Anderson). Do some of those names sound familiar? Sting main evented PPVs in TNA with which 'wrestlers'?? Jeff Hardy, Rob Van Dam, and Ken Anderson! Three former WWE superstars that didn't quite make the main event against Cena for some reason. Yet they are good enough to main event against Sting. Does this mean that Cena is better than Sting???

Brock Lesner
Meanwhile, other huge stars have left just to get out of the company and stated numerous times that they will never go back. Guys like Brock Lesner who failed as a football player and then went to UFC.

Bill Goldberg
Bill Goldberg who has said he will never work for Vince ever again. Batista who is now promoting his new gym and said he does not want to work for any other wrestling company except for WWE, but that he will never return until they change this PG style and put some better guys in the top spots.

Bill Goldberg
And in all the time these major stars have been leaving, can anyone name one superstar that has left TNA or UFC or MMA to come to the WWE? I can't think of any. I think its safe to say a major shift is taking place, the tide is turning, and all the smart 'wrestlers' are abandoning the sinking ship before its too late.

CM Punk has been the first to publicly speak out about this and on WWE programing. He announced before his contract ended that he is leaving at the end of the month. This is huge controversy, and big ratings for WWE, but the joke is on them, they are trying to cash in by announcing to the world that nobody wants to work for them anymore.

TNA
They chose to push John Cena down our throats and ignore everyone else we wanted to see, as if Vince said "they will like who I tell them to like." Well how has that worked for him? Ratings are down, everyone is trying to leave, and his only chance now for ratings is to cash in on that very fact? Wow.
