Final Resolution 2011

Opening Match... Rob Van Dam VS Christopher Daniels
Good match, but not many highlights. It was a traditional wrestling match, not Hardcore or Extreme. It was Daniels that asked for it to be this way. Daniels never really hit any big moves. RVD hit the Five-Star-Frog-Splash for the win.

Television Championship... Robbie E VS Eric Young
It was the comedy match of the show. I like the new storyline with Rob Terry as Robbie E's bouncer. Its a good gimmick and there could be lots of good storylines with it. Terry could interfere in Robbie's matches and help him keep the title for a long time. Plus the velvet rope entrance his funny. Eric Young on the other hand, I think his comedy gimmick has gotten old and its time for this one trick pony to be put out to stud lol.

Tag-Team Championship... Matt Morgan & Crimsion VS Devon & The Pope
Not a great match. The Champions still haven't really come together as a team, and I'm really bored of this angle with Devon's kids and how The Pope is too close with them. It's boring and it's going nowhere. I think they should just have Devon fight The Pope already and get it over with! Oh and bring back The Motor City Machine Guns and Generation Me to save the Tag-Team division!

X-Division Championship... Austin Aries VS Kidd Kash
Possibly the best match on the show. Better wrestling moves than even the main event had to offer, and better comedy than the joke match with Eric Young had to offer. I think Austin Aries is one of the most talented wrestlers in the company right now. I also think he should be used more than just to save the X-Division. Personally though, if I was running TNA and I wanted to save the X-Division, I would have had Kid Kash win the Championship. Then on Impact, I would have Kash walk to the ring and challenge Rob Van Dam. Then you would have two ECW stars fighting for the X-Division Championship. I think Rob Van Dam should be the one to save the X-Division. I know its supposed to be the new Cruiserweight Championship, but I think they had the right idea when they were making it more of an Extreme Championship!

Knockout Championship... Mickie James VS Gail Kim
One of the best woman's matches in a long time. I know we all are supposed to hate Karen Jarrett, but since she took over the Knockout's division it has been better than ever. The Gauntlet Match to crown the new #1 contender was amazing, all of the other car-wash type gimmicks have been funny, and bringing back Gail Kim and making her the Knockouts Champion and Knockouts Tag-Team Champion were great! The only downside has been Velvet Sky being dropped practically out of the whole division. She finally became Knockouts Champion and then they just changed direction and dropped her out of the picture. I think the fans want to see Velvet Sky, Brooke Tessmacher, and Angelina Love more than they are now. Maybe reunite The Beautiful People for a Tag-Team Championship reign, and give Tessmacher a chance to be Knockouts Champion!

Kurt Angle VS James Storm
Kind of a boring match. Not many highlights. But it was a big shock that Kurt Angle lost to James Storm again. I think Kurt Angle has done a great job of putting over Beer Money as individual wrestlers. He has single-handedly made each of them TNA World Champion. They each owe him a big debt of gratitude. I think this match was just Kurt trying to pay Storm back for not being able to give him a decent match when he lost the World Title to him because of an injury. Now Storm is ready to be a main-event star, and Kurt is ready to focus on the Olympics.

Steel Cage Match... Jeff Hardy VS Jeff Jarrett
In this match there were quiet a few stipulations. If Jeff Hardy lost he had to leave TNA, but if he won he would get a World Title shot in the main-event of Genesis. Sting also added a last minute stipulation that if Jeff Hardy won either Jeff Jarrett or Karen Jarrett would be fired on Impact. Well obviously this was just another attempt to put Jeff Hardy back into the main event picture. Jeff Jarrett lost to him three times on the last PPV. Now they had a Steel Cage Match to settle it all. Karen was at ringside, but she was handcuffed to Sting. Jeff Hardy had the match won, he had Jarrett down in the middle of the ring after a Twist-Of-Fate. He chose to go up to the top rope for a Swanton-Bomb. He changed his mind, came down, hit Jarrett with another Twist-Of-Fate then climbed to the top of the cage to make his escape. Only he turned back and changed his mind again. This time he decided to jump off the top of the cage with a huge Swanton-Bomb. Unfortunately, Jarrett rolled out of the way, and Hardy crashed hard in the middle of the ring. Jarrett had the referee open the door, and a battle started in the cage door. As the two fought, the door swung open and hit Sting in the face. Karen stole the key to the handcuffs and once she was free slammed the cage door in Hardy's face. She tried to hand Jarrett his guitar but Sting stopped her. Hardy hit another Twist-Of-Fate and this time covered Jarrett for the win. Now Hardy will be going to the main event on the next PPV to become World Champion again. It seemed fitting that after the match Sting raised his hand, since it was Sting that beat Hardy in that infamous match that almost ended Hardy's career. Almost like Sting was officially bringing him back now and putting him back into the main event to win back his title.

TNA World Championship... Bobby Roode VS AJ Styles (30 Minute Iron-Man Match)
AJ Styles injured his knee on the Impact before the PPV. He decided to go through with the match anyways. It was obvious he was not 100%. The match was not as good as I was expecting. I had hoped they would each score quiet a few pin-falls with their best moves. That was not the case. They each managed to score 3 pin-falls with some random moves though. But when AJ went for the Styles-Clash in the last 2 minutes to take the lead, his knee gave out and folded under him. This looked so horrific, everyone gasped. It was extremely well done by AJ. I assumed Roode would attack AJ while he was down and score the 4th and final decision. However, that was again not the case. AJ just got up and ran across the ring and dove over the top rope as if his knee was suddenly recovered. After landing the move he suddenly acted as if his knee was hurt again. This ruined the whole knee injury angle for me and ruined the whole match in my opinion. It only got worse from there. Roode spent the next 2 minutes running away from an injured AJ rather than attacking him and going for the win. The match ended in a 3-3 draw. Roode still kept the Title. Apparently TNA does not have Sudden-Death Rules like WWE had at Wrestlemania 12. It was a disappointing match with a pathetic ending. Like I said, if they wanted Roode to win, AJ's knee giving out was the perfect ending. All Roode had to do was take advantage of AJ's knee and get the win. Would it not have been cool to see the Canadian wrestler win the Iron-Man Match with the Sharp-Shooter? I think so. It would have been perfect on AJ's injured knee, and it would have been even better because that is Sting's finisher as well. Oh well, that was not the case. Roode ran like a chicken and AJ looked like the better man. Though his knee injury did not come off as legit since he was chasing Roode on it. If they wanted to put Roode over as the Champion he should have scored a deciding fall. Instead their Champion looks like a weak coward.
