Rock Signs On For Hercules: The Rock was rumored to be in the running to play Hercules in Brett Ratner's upcoming movie, which is an adaptation of the comic book Hercules: The Thracian Wars. Variety reported that the Rock has officially signed on for the project, and production will start in October in New Zealand.
Deadline.com reports that in addition to The Rock signing on for Hercules, "The People's Champion" has also signed on to star in Ciudad, to be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. Rock will play a black market mercenary who was hired by a Brazilian drug lord to rescue his kidnapped daughter.

On top of the two movie roles, The Rock recently bought a $3.45 million, 13,154 square foot mansion in Southwest Ranches, Florida. The home has five bedrooms, seven baths, a pool, a home theater and more.
