Layla shocked the WWE Universe when she made her long awaited return to the ring at Extreme Rules when she defeated Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship. In case anyone has forgotten who Layla is, let me remind you...
She started out in ECW in Kelly Kelly's Extreme Expose. It was Layla, Brooke Tessmacher who is now in TNA, and of course Kelly Kelly. From there Layla went on to for LayCool with Michelle McCool. They dominated the WWE until Michelle McCool decided she wanted to retire so she could be at home with her husband The Undertaker. So to end her career, Michelle lost a retirement match to Layla.
But Layla should not be overlooked, even though she was overshadowed in the Extreme Expose by Kelly Kelly, and in LayCool by Michelle McCool. Here are just a few facts about Layla...
- Layla is the first British-born WWE Women's Champion
- and the first British-born WWE Divas Champion
- She was also the last Diva to hold the WWE Women's Championship when she defeated Beth Phoenix for the title on May 14th, 2010.
