Punk Should Kiss HBK & Y2J's Ass!

CM Punk recently stating that someone that looks like him wouldn't have been on the first episode of RAW: "I certainly understand the point he was trying to make. It was a different time, and there was a different attitude toward us guys, but because he is a fighter and doesn't take a lot of guff from folks — for the same reasons that he is on now and the same reason he accomplished what he has in his career now, which is a testament to him — for all of those reasons, all the good reasons and positives because he is a fighter, I think he would have been on the first show.

"I think I understand the point he was trying to make. It was a different time. There were stereotypes that needed to be broken back then, and thankfully, it was done. Hopefully, it has made a difference for Punk and the others. I think because of the type of dude he is, I don't think he would have had anything to worry about."

I think if Punk was smart he would have said thanks to guys like Shawn Michaels who paved the way guys like Punk can now be WWE Champion. I think he's an asshole for implying that he was the one that broke the glass ceiling. CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, and Austin Aries are making great progress and changing the world of professional wrestling today. But they aren't the first. Shawn Michaels was the first in my opinion.

Ever since Superstar Billy Graham, the biggest has always been the best. All through the 1980s every WWF (WWE) Champion has been huge. Then in the 1990s Shawn Michaels defeated Bret Hart at Wrestlemania 12 to become WWF Champion and in my opinion that changed things. Unfortunately, I think Shawn kind of dropped the ball and didn't really do as good as he could have. They put him up against huge guys like Undertaker, Sid Vicious, Vader, etc and in the the injuries piled up and he did not have a long great run as champion, but he did make it there.

Since then big stars have always been champion, a guy like Batista will always be champion, but more smaller more talented wrestlers like Shawn have made it to the top. But to show how little had changed, when CM Punk first became World Champion and faced Batista for the title I still remember thinking, what a joke this little guy is gonna get killed! But now Punk has come a long way, and he is a respected main event champion. And in that spot he has brought up guys like Bryan into the main even with him, which helps him to avoid facing guys like Big Show, Kane, Undertaker, etc. I think if  Punk was facing those giants he would be out with an injury and his title reign would not have lasted over 200 days.

Its nice of Punk to help ROH guys like him, the same way Rob Van Dam always tries to help former ECW guys, but its still all about making Punk look good. I just think he needs to share the credit, cus the bottom line is, he can never and will never be able to pick up a guy like the Big Show the way Cena or Lesnar can, and for that reason in the fan's eyes a wrestler like Big Show, or Lesner and Cena could believably beat him at any time.

The guys who I think really deserve a lot of credit for changing the game were Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit. They were like a hybrid... they had strength and power that Punk and Bryan don't have, and they could out do them at all the fast high-flying stuff. I think its a shame that Jericho was never recognized as the perfect storm that he really was. Jericho has the power, has the speed, the high-flying, the submission, the mic skills, the charisma, and he could be the movie star they want. If I was running the WWE Jericho would have been my top guy since the day he debuted against The Rock!

So in the end, Punk should kiss Shawn Micheals and Chris Jericho's ass!

The evolution of a wrestler... Shawn Michaels was the first to break through and become the top star in the company... but then injures took him back out of the spotlight... then Chris Jericho came along and had it all... but despite being the first every Undisputed Champion, he was never put in the #1 spot that he should have been... now CM Punk drops a pipe bomb and is handed the WWE Championship on a silver platter and acts like he single-handily changed the wrestling world.

Since being the Undisputed Champion, has Chris Jericho ever been WWE Champion?
