TNA Releases Velvet Sky

Over at her official Twitter account, long-time TNA Knockout Velvet Sky has announced she has parted ways with the company.

I have been granted my release by TNA at this time. It's what's best for me right now and I want to thank TNA and all the fans for the constant support in me. Stay tuned though...

The move comes after days of heavy speculation about her uncertain future in America's No. 2 wrestling promotion. These reports noted that she and the company were struggling to come to the terms of a new contract and, after a run as one of the most popular and pushed women on the roster, she looked to be on her way out.

With the release now official, the conversation will inevitably turn towards the possibility of Sky heading to rival promotion WWE.

But would they be interested in giving her a deal?

On paper, the former TNA Knockout's Champion has everything the company could want in a Diva: She has good looks, first-rate promo skills and a decent amount of charisma.

Of course, her in-work has always been patchy but, considering how little value WWE has placed in their women's wrestling product in the past, that probably won't be an issue one way or another.
