TNA Lockdown 2013

TNA's Lockdown PPV was pretty good this year. I should have written about it sooner but I was too occupied with Wrestlemania...

The opening match re-defined the Triple-Threat Match. It was for the X-Division Championship, and it was between the Champion Kenny King, former Champion Zema Ion, and my pick to win the match Christian York. Right off the start, I thought Kenny King was out of the match when he tried to do a back flip off Zema Ion who was between the ropes backwards onto York who was outside the ring by the guard rail, only Kenny slipped and went backwards head-first into the guard rail. He recovered and went on to win the match but it was amazing and he was the least impressive of the three. Zema Ion stole the show but I still think York should have won the title.

Velvet Sky defeated Gail Kim for the Knockouts Championship. Gail Kim attacked the referee Taren and caused her to attack Gail and allow Velvet to defeat Gail for the Championship. It was a decent match. I love how TNA actually lets the women wrestle. They have good matches. And they all look amazing. I just wish my two favourites would have some matches. Velvet Sky vs Miss Tessmacher.

The other matches weren't really worth mentioning, but the main event was shocking...

Bully Ray defeated Jeff Hardy in the main event inside a steel cage to win the TNA Championship with the help of the Aces And Eights. Bully Ray was revealed to be the leader of the Aces And Eights. I saw this coming but was hoping Jeff Jarrett would have been brought in as their leader, to destroy the company that he created but no longer owns. I guess that will never happen now. But Bully Ray makes sense. He was always the bad guy, and his good guy image seemed fake. The wedding to Brooke Hogan was lame and no one liked seeing Bully Ray as Hulk Hogan's new son-in-law. Now he turns on the Hogan Family. He used Brooke and tricked Hulk. This was reminiscent of the forming of the NWO at Bash At The Beach when Hulk Hogan turned heel. The crowd hated it and threw garbage at the ring. It was exciting but at the same time really pissed me off just like it did to all the fans there.

The Aces And Eights have gone on too long and have been too boring. They have added too many guys and its getting too much. They should have kept it smaller and ended the storyline sooner. Bully Ray should not be Champion too long because it will get extremely old very fast. Now Rob Van Dam has left TNA and signed a new two year contract with the WWE and its rumoured that Jeff Hardy will do the same next. So that doesn't leave TNA with too much. The next TNA Champion should be James Storm since he deserves the belt and is the next biggest star they have left.

I assumed Mr. Anderson would have turned on the Aces And Eights and would be revealed to have been a plant by Hogan all along, a spy on the inside. And in the big Lockdown match with Team Aces And Eights vs Team Sting / TNA I would have had Anderson come in last for the Aces And Eights but join team Sting / TNA and help them win causing the Aces And Eights to be destroyed. It would have made Anderson a major star again and got rid of the Aces And Eights angle.

Its rumoured now that AJ Styles will be the next to join the Aces And Eights. They seem to be expanding the group now and only building this storyline more. So I am losing interest in TNA. But Lockdown was a good PPV and they still have potential. Especially since they are on the road and out of the Impact Zone. They just shouldn't have lost Rob Van Dam!

Wrestlemania My Way

As the pre-show I would have NXT. In the weeks leading up to Wrestlemania, Dean Ambrose would have defeated Big E Langston to win the NXT Championship with the help of the Shield. But then Big E would have won it back in a cage match. So at Wrestlemania 29 in the pre-show, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins would have won the NXT Tag-Team Championships, and Roman Reigns would have defeated Big E for the NXT Championship... the Shield would hold all the gold in NXT.

Opening Match, for the Intercontinental Championship. Dolph Ziggler would have been the Intercontinental Champion since he won the Money In The Bank briefcase. He would have beaten everyone all year with the help of AJ and Big E. But in the opening match of Wrestlemania 29 he would have lost the title to Zack Ryder who had just put his Internet Championship on the line for the first time in the WWE ring and at Wrestlemania. Ziggler had wanted the Internet Championship to get back at Ryder for defeating him for the United States Championship. But Ryder would have won the match when Big E accidentally knocked Ziggler out with the steel briefcase while AJ had the referee distracted. This would have slip them all up. And Zack Ryder would be a major star holding and defending the Intercontinental Championship for the better part of the next year.

Ryback would have won the United States Championship from Antonio Cesaro at the Tribute to the Troops being the first American to defeat Cesaro. Ryback would have been undefeated still. He would have lost the title to Jack Swagger the night Jack Swagger returned. Swagger would have knocked Ryback out of the ring, that's when Zeb would have come out for the first time, and interfered keeping Ryback from getting back to the ring. Ryback would have been counted out and the stipulation on the match would have been disqualification or count out and the title goes to Swagger. So Swagger would have won the belt but Ryback would still be undefeated. Their big re-match would have been at Wrestlemania. If Ryback wins this match he ties Goldberg's undefeated streak. If he loses he falls one match short. Ryback would of course win the match, win the United States Championship back, and tie Goldberg's undefeated streak. That is when Goldberg's music would hit and Goldberg would come out to challenge Ryback right then and there, for the United States Championship and to make sure he doesn't break Goldberg's record. Ryback would defeat Goldberg to break the record and have one more win than Goldberg's streak.

Divas Championship Match, AJ Lee would have defeated Kaitlyn to become the new Divas Champion. AJ has been the top Diva in the WWE for the past year and has not even received a title match. Its time for her to be Divas Champion. And it would make perfect sense, her and Kaitlyn used to be best friends, they could have a great rivalry now.

Its time for Team Hell No to split up and drop the Tag-Team Championships. The only problem is, there is not another decent Tag-Team in the WWE. So there is no one good enough to take the titles from them. Maybe the Prime Time Players lol.

I was thinking that they should have had Chris Jericho win the World Championship in the Elimination Chamber only to have Dolph Ziggler come out and cash in the Money In The Bank briefcase. I thought it could come down to Jericho and the Big Show (after Sheamus, Randy Orton, Alberto Del Rio, and Mark Henry had been eliminated). I thought Jericho could jump off the top of the pod in the corner into the middle of the ring landing into a Code-Breaker on the Big Show. The crowd would go crazy. Jericho would barley be able to make the cover after that move. He would get the three-count and win the match and the World Championship. But by the time Jericho got to his feet the Big Show would have gotten to his feet as well. As they presented Jericho the title and he started to celebrate he would turn around just in time to get the Knock-Out Punch from the Big Show, who would walk away leaving the new World Champion knocked out in the center of the ring. The Big Show would have thrown the World Championship down on top of the unconscious Jericho. That is when Dolph Ziggler's music would hit. The crowd would explode. And Ziggler would cover Chris Jericho, who would kick out, but then Ziggler would hit the Zig-Zag and then get the cover and the three-count to win the World Championship. Ziggler would carry the title into Wrestlemania where he would have a re-match with Jericho.

But I liked the idea of Ziggler saving the briefcase until Wrestlemania. And I like the Intercontinental Championship vs the Internet Championship match, and having Zack Ryder unite those two championships.

So instead I would have Randy Orton walk into Wrestlemania as World Champion, which he would have had been for most of the past year. Since the great rivalry between Sheamus and the Big Show. And those three would have a Triple Threat Match for the World Championship at Wrestlemania 29. One great moment in the match would be when the Big Show hits Randy with the Knock-Out Punch and as Randy is spun around and unconscious Sheamus runs across the ring and hits him with the Brogue-Kick putting him out cold. But I think at the end I would have Sheamus finally knock out the Big Show with the Brogue-Kick just as Randy gets up and hits him with the RKO for the win.

When CM Punk faced the Undertaker. I would have had the Shield come down to the ring just as the Undertaker had hit the Tombstone for the win. The crowd would be upset. The Shield would come down and destroy the referee and the Undertaker. They would hit the Triple-Power-Bomb on the Undertaker. That is when Brad Maddox would come running to the ring in a referees shirt. The crowd would sense the fix. But as Brad counts 1 and 2, the crowd going nuts, Brad would stop and flip-off Punk. As Punk jumped up and came after Maddox he would drop down and hit Punk with the same low-blow he used on Ryback. The Shield would chase Brad away from ringside through the crowd. Paul Heyman would roll the original referee back into the ring and screamed for Punk to cover the Undertaker. Either the Undertaker would kick out and then take out Heyman and Punk and win the match. Or Kane would come out and take over Heyman and Punk and help the Undertaker win the match.

Although I would have liked to have seen CM Punk vs John Cena in the main event since they had the best feud all year. They could have made it into a Triple Threat Match with CM Punk vs John Cena vs The Rock. But imagine if they could have brought Stone Cold Steve Austin into the match as a Fatal Four-Way. Or just have CM Punk vs Stone Cold Steve Austin and let the Rock and John Cena have their match. Though if you have the Fatal-Four-Way there is the chance Stone Cold Steve Austin could win the WWE Championship and shock the world!

But the best idea I think I have had would be for the Triple H vs Brock Lesnar match. This one could set up the entire year for the WWE. And its so simple. The match could have played out basically the same as it did, though I would have had both bleeding. But in the end, it is CM Punk that comes out and interferes, costing Triple H the match. CM Punk takes out Shawn Michaels. The he helps Brock Lesnar take out Triple H. An added stipulation for this match, on top of the loser having to retire, the winner becomes the number one contender for the World Championship (or the WWE Championship). This way, Triple H is forced into retirement and has to assume the position of running the WWE. Triple H would take over running Raw and Smackdown. But Brock Lesnar would be the new number one contender. CM Punk would now be the WWE Champion. And Brock Lesnar would have a big match with Randy Orton and become World Champion. As a team, Lesnar and Punk, managed by Heyman could become Tag-Team Champions. There would finally be a team better than Team Hell No. Have them win all the gold. Make sure Punk has won both the Intercontinental Championship and the United States Championship, and then have Lesnar win the both since he has never held any title except for the WWE Championship. However, the only thing that can stop them is the new boss Triple H, whose career they ended. And now his only goal in running the WWE is stopping them and getting revenge on them.

Triple H would bring in anyone that he thought could stop them. Triple H would re-sign wrestlers like Jeff Hardy or Rob Van Dam to take on CM Punk for the WWE Championship. And he would re-sign wrestlers like Bobby Lashley, Goldberg, and Batista to take on Brock Lesnar. Maybe he could even re-sign Kurt Angle, the only one that could ever defeat Brock Lesnar.

This is how I would have ran the last year, and built up the Wrestlemania feuds and set up the following year of the WWE. I think Vince should hire me right now!

Wrestlemania 29

Pre-Show, which I did not see, the Miz defeated Wade Barrett for the Intercontinental Championship. I thought this was a bad idea. I liked the idea of Chris Jericho winning his record setting 10th Intercontinental Championship. I was also thinking that Zack Ryder should have shocked the world in the opening match of Wrestlemania by winning the IC title.

The United States Champion didn't even have a match. I like Antonio Cesaro but he is a boring champion. I would have had Ryback defeat him as the first American to do so at the Tribute to the Troops and have had Ryback as the US Champ. I might have had Swagger with the belt since he is the American character now. But I would have wanted to do the Ryback undefeated streak all the way to Wrestlemania where he would have been tied with Goldberg's record and have had to face Goldberg and defeat him to break the record.

The 6-Man tag-team match was the opening match of the PPV. It was a horrible disappointment. Randy Orton refused to tag in the Big Show and lost the match. A few good moves, but why waste these big stars on an opening match with 3 rookies. Sheamus should have been facing the Big Show because they had great matches all year. Randy Orton should be walking into Wrestlemania as World Champion in a main event, not an opening match.

No Divas match at all, which was bad. I don't remember the last Wrestlemania without one. I was hoping to see AJ defeat Kaitlyn to become the new Divas Champion.

The worst moment of the PPV was when Jericho lost to Fandango. Why was Jericho even in this match? Last year Jericho was in the main event against CM Punk for the WWE Championship. This year he is in an opening match against a rookie that doesn't deserve to even be on Wrestlemania.

Ryback vs Mark Henry. I thought this was a passing of the torch to the new strongest man in the WWE. Ryback picked up Henry but then dropped to the mat with Henry landing on the back of his head.  Henry got the pin and won the match. After the match Ryback picked up Henry again and marched around the ring and delivered the Shell Shock. It was impressive. Ryback should have won the match and this probably should have been the United States Championship match.

Team Hell No defeated Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston. AJ gave Ziggler the kiss of death before the match and Bryan kicked Ziggler's head off and everyone thought it would be another quick win, but Dolph kicked out. It was a decent match, and I wanted Dolph to win the Tag-Team Championships, but that wasn't the case. Team Hell No walked away with the belts. It only seemed fitting to me that on the same night I expected Ziggler to become World Champion again he would become Tag-Team Champion for the first time. I assumed he would cash in his Money In The Bank contract after the title match later.

That was the worst match on the show. Alberto Del Rio vs Jack Swagger. After all that build up you would expect a great match, but that didn't happen. Swagger is boring to begin with, and Alberto is the worst in the WWE in my opinion. He is bad on the mic and his big finishing move is an arm bar. After months of Swagger and Zeb shooting off their mouths, Swagger tapped out to the arm-bar just like everyone else.

I wanted to see Brock Lesnar end Triple H's career. I'm sick of Triple H. He needs to retire and run the company. Brock Lesnar is scarier than ever and should have won every title in the WWE this year and should be World Champion right now. But Triple H managed to pedigree Brock onto the steel ring steps that Brock had brought in the ring after hitting Brock in the face with his sledge-hammer. I was disappointed. Triple H will still retire this year, and how does this help Brock who should be a champion in this company today.

There wasn't match build up as usual for the Undertaker match. But CM Punk did a lot in a short amount of time. He stole the urn from the Undertaker, interrupted the moment for Paul Bearer, dumped the ashes from the urn all over the Undertaker. Paul Heyman dressed up as Paul Bearer, which apparently really upset Paul Bearer's son who had already given them permission to do this skit. Punk came out in dark purple, presumably the same colours the Undertaker started out in back in the 1980s. Punk messed up the top rope dive to the Spanish announce table which did not break when he crashed into it. Looked like he hurt his knee as he landed on it, hopefully not the same knee he had surgery on. Honestly, Punk seemed to be off his game, he messed up a few moves and the match was not as good as I expected. But the Undertaker seemed to be as good as ever. The scary moment was when the Undertake went for the Last Ride but Heyman had handed Punk the urn and he struck the Undertaker on the top of the head and went for the pin. The streak could have ended right there, but the Undertaker kicked out. In the end, the Undertaker hit another Tombstone and this time Punk stayed down. The streak continues to 21-0.

The main event was once again, John Cena vs The Rock, only this time it was for the WWE Championship. I thought the match was even worse than the one last year. Each wrestler proved they only had one move. John Cena just kept using the AA and the Rock just kept using the Rock Bottom. I lost count of how many times each wrestler used their one move or attempted their one move. I think at one point they had blocked each others finisher several times in a row and the crowd was just chanting boring. That's how bad it was. The proper finish would have been when Cena went for the People's Elbow but tricked the Rock into the AA. But the Rock kicked out just to have them do another AA which seemed dragged out and as if they lost the momentum. Either way, Cena won. Despite the Rock swearing that this would not be a torch passing match, that's all it was. Like when the Rock beat Hogan, the Rock raised Cena's hand and passed him the torch. Clearly the Rock is not coming back. Cena gave Rock the spotlight to say his goodbyes. After the match the Rock looked sad as he said goodbye and raised Cena's hand. It was sad to watch.

Rumours I've Heard

Rob Van Dam is finished with TNA and ready to return to the WWE. That is why RVD dropped the X-Division Championship, so that he could part ways with the company. Of course they tried to embarrass him and have him lose to Kenny King, but it won't phase RVD.

Jeff Hardy was also all set to leave TNA and return to the WWE, but that is why TNA quickly changed its plans and made Hardy their Champion. But now that he has dropped that title to Bully Ray he is ready to leave TNA for good. He should be returning to the WWE along with RVD.

Batista is apparently backstage at WWE shows including Wrestlemania. After failing in the world of MMA Batista is apparently ready to make his return to the WWE ring. But will fans welcome him back?
